Bernard Thompson, age 72, of 2820 Sugar Hill Road, Unadilla, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late Jessie Thompson and Maggie Goodroe Thompson. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a former Sunday School Superintendant. Mr. Thompson retired from Blue Bird where he worked in building maintenance.
Survivors include:
Wife: Carolyn Faulk Thompson of Unadilla
Daughter: Dewana Statham (Tom) of Unadilla
Sister: Jeanette Peavy of Vienna
Grandchildren: Clay Statham of Unadilla
Charlie Statham of Browndale
He was preceded in death by his son, daughter-in-law and grandsons, Lee and Lori Thompson, Matt and Joey in 1995.
He is also survived by his beloved dog, Dottie.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, July 27 in County Line Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Monday, July 26 at the funeral home or may be contacted at the Statham residence, 2750 Sugar Hill Road, Unadilla.
